I learned so much from working with Tyler and his Mom when he was a toddler; it was my first experience working with a person with severe needs, and she was an amazing advocate for her son while also being just a very cool, laid back mama. She urged us to 'just get in there' and be hands on with him, which is a really intimidating experience for a 'newbie' to the sphere of high needs kids. Watching Tyler manipulate his iPad with his tongue may seem strange and foreign to an outsider at first glance, but when you stop to think, it is just mindblowing that we have this kind of technology available at relatively affordable prices.
